28-Year-Old Navy Veteran Dies after Motorcycle Crash near Energy Northwest
BENTON COUNTY, WA (November 4, 2018) – A motorcyclist was killed Sunday evening following a motorcycle crash near Energy Northwest. The deceased victim was later identified as 28-year-old Mikhaill Stewart, a Navy veteran.
As per reports, the incident took place on Highway 4 South near milepost 14. Stewart was riding his motorcycle on his way to work when he collided with a deer. Good Samaritans rushed to help the injured man by lifting the motorcycle that had landed on him.
Emergency responders transported Stewart to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in serious condition, where he underwent emergency surgery after suffering traumatic brain injuries. Unfortunately, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead hours after arriving at the hospital. A GoFundMe page was created to assist Stewart’s family with funeral expenses. Speed and reckless driving were ruled out as possible contributing factors in the fatal crash, which remains under investigation. It was also noted that Stewart was wearing a helmet and protective gear at the time of the collision. Additional information will be released to the public once it becomes available.
