Officers Still Looking for Kevin Koch and Nichole Martin after Parkland Crash

PARKLAND, WA (January 30, 2019) – Authorities are asking the public for help in finding two people involved in a hit-and-run crash last month.

Shortly before 1 a.m. on December 29, a blue SUV was moving southbound on Highway 7 near Spanaway when detectives said it struck a man crossing South 138th Street.

The driver, whom detectives believe left the scene, has been identified as Kevin M. Koch.

Authorities believe his girlfriend, Nichole C. Martin, was a passenger in the blue SUV when the vehicle struck the pedestrian.

Detectives have tracked down the vehicle involved in the incident.

53-year-old Mike Matzick, of Lakewood, remains at Tacoma General Hospital recovering from a broken leg.

A vehicle suddenly struck him and ran him over while he was crossing the street, Matzick said. He was twisted up when the car struck him and he went up in the air several times.

According to Matzick, he didn’t know who struck him but wants those responsible off of the road. He hopes that they would turn themselves in, he added.

Washington State Patro stated that Koch and Martin are known to be in the Puyallup area and might be found driving a red and grey Chevrolet S10 pickup or an older grey Volkswagen sedan.

Anyone with information about this incident or the location of Koch or Martin, please contact Washington State Patrol Detective Beeler at (253) 538-3172.

If you ever get involved in a traffic accident, do not attempt to flee the scene. Face the consequences of your actions and wait for the arrival of the police. By following driving laws and being careful when behind the wheel, you can keep yourself and others around you safe.
