30-Year-Old Man Killed in Early Morning DUI Crash on 10 Freeway at Dudley Street
POMONA, CA (June 23, 2019) – A man was killed following a DUI crash early Sunday morning in Pomona.
The fatal crash happen around 4:26 a.m. on eastbound 10 Freeway at Dudley Street, and involved three vehicles.
According to the CHP accident report, a 31-year-old Miguel Rubalcava of Victorville was driving his 2007 Mazda eastbound on the freeway, crossing all lanes at an unknown speed.
A 2002 Honda Civic, driven by a 30-year-old man, was disabled and blocking the first lane of the freeway.
Rubalcava’s Mazda hit the driver’s side of the Honda. The Mazda then spun out of control and hit a 2002 Cadillac Escalade, driven by 30-year- old Ricardo Gonzalez, in the carpool lane.
Arriving units pronounced the Honda driver dead at the scene. Information on the victim’s identity was not immediately available.
Rubalcava was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after being treated at the hospital for minor injuries.
Gonzalez who was driving the Escalade did not suffer any injuries, the CHP said.
Investigation of this incident is still ongoing.
