Pregnant Woman Killed in Long Beach DUI Accident on Long Beach Boulevard and 52nd Street
LONG BEACH, CA (August 8, 2021) – Saturday morning, authorities arrested Miguel Larios after a deadly crash on Long Beach Boulevard.
The authorities responded to the scene at 11:36 a.m. According to reports, 26-year-old Miguel Larios of Long Beach drove a 2006 GMC pickup truck. A pregnant woman and a 10-year-old child rode with him as he traveled south on Long Beach Boulevard.
Apparently, Larios got involved in a road rage incident with a second vehicle for several blocks even as the second driver tried to disengage from the situation.
Then, a third vehicle was parked on the west curb south of Mountain View Street. As the driver of that car, a 2004 Toyota Corolla, pulled away from the curb, the Toyota hit the pickup.
Afterward, Larios lost control of the vehicle. Then, he hit an unoccupied pickup that was parked just north of 52nd Street on Long Beach Boulevard.
The Long Beach Fire Department took all three occupants to a local hospital. Hover, the eight months pregnant woman died. Meanwhile, Larios and the child received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
At this time, the identity of the 23-year-old pregnant woman from Long Beach remains undisclosed.
Meanwhile, the authorities arrested Miguel Larios and booked him on suspicion of two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. He was also charged one count of driving under the influence and one count of child endangerment.
The authorities urged anyone with information about the crash to contact Long Beach Police Department Collision Investigation Detail Detective Joseph Johnson or Kelsey Myers at (562) 570-7355.
