Miguel Fabian Dead after Cerritos Hit-and-Run Crash on 91 Freeway
CERRITOS, CA (September 30, 2019) – 34-year-old Miguel Gutierrez Fabian, of Norwalk, died in a hit-and-run crash on Sunday, September 29.
According to his wife Lorraine Barajas, he was on his way home from Disneyland. Then he stopped on the shoulder of the eastbound 91 Freeway near Studebaker Road shortly after midnight. He tried to assist a teenager who had run out of gas. Barajas said a truck hit her vehicle, then struck her husband and dragged him on the freeway. The truck didn’t even try to stop, she added.
Emergency personnel pronounced Guttierez Fabian dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
It was not yet determined whether Gutierrez Fabian and the young driver he was assisting knew one another before the crash.
California Highway Patrol investigators said that the suspect vehicle as a white stake bed truck with wooden rails. It possibly has front-end damage on the passenger side.
