Motorcyclist Dies after Crash with Van on Central Avenue near Philadelphia Street
CHINO, CA (November 4, 2019) – A motorcyclist was killed following a collision with a van late Monday afternoon in Chino.
The collision happened around 5:41 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Central Avenue, just south of Philadelphia Street.
According to the CHP, a 32-year-old Miguel Angel Barragan of Hemet was riding a Honda motorcycle southbound on Central Avenue. A Chevrolet Express Van, driven by a 70-year-old Chino man, was making a left turn into the shopping center near Denny’s.
The van turned directly into the path of Barragan, and the bike broadsided the van.
As a result, Barragan suffered severe injuries. Arriving paramedics provided life-saving measures, but Barragan died at the scene.
The identity of the van’s driver has not yet been released.
Authorities said intoxication is not suspected at this time, but further investigation is underway.
