1 Dead and 2 Hospitalized after Victorville Car Accident on National Trails Highway
VICTORVILLE, CA (September 10, 2019) – A 33-year-old Apple Valley man died Sunday after his vehicle was hit head-on while driving on National Trails Highway, authorities said.
The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Miguel Angel Aguirre.
Aguirre drove a Ford Flex north on National Trails Highway when the vehicle collided with a southbound Nissan Armada, driven by Kenya Williams, 45, of Las Vegas, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said. Williams’ Nissan crossed into the northbound lane for reasons still under investigation, deputies said.
Authorities airlifted Aguirre’s passenger, an unidentified man, to a local hospital with critical injuries. In addition, paramedics airlifted Williams to a local hospital with moderate injuries, a department statement said.
Deputies are still investigating whether drugs or alcohol are a factor in the crash.
National Trails Highway closed for several hours following the collision, the department said.
Anyone with information or anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact Deputies A. Hylin or A. Ramos at the Victorville Police Station at 760-241-2911.
