Evening Head-On Collision in Middletown Kills 1 and Badly Injures Another
MIDDLETOWN, CA (November 24, 2018) – One person was killed following a head-on crash Saturday evening in Middletown, CHP officials said.
The crash happened around 10:23 p.m. on Highway 29, just South of Grange Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a truck and a car collided head-on, causing major front-end damage on both vehicles.
Paramedics responded to the scene and found one party with fatal injuries. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released pending next of kin notification.
A second patient was seriously injured and needed to be extricated from a vehicle.
Requests for air ambulances were not filled due to concerns about weather, according to dispatch.
Highway 29 was closed for a few hours while crews cleared the wreckage. The highway was re-opened shortly before 1:00 a.m. Sunday.
