Michelle Leon Killed and 2 Hurt in Mead Valley Crash on Markham Street

 
MEAD VALLEY, CA (June 16, 2020) – Sunday night, 18-year-old Michelle Leon died, while two others sustained injuries in a hit-and-run accident on Markham Street.
 
The incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. in the 20790 block of Markham Street near Hallett Street, according to the Cal Fire Riverside and the California Highway Patrol-Riverside office.
 
The authorities confirmed that they declared Ms. Leon dead at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, 19-year-old Jennifer Romero, also of Riverside, sustained life-threatening injuries, officials reported.
 
Moreover, the third individual involved sustained moderate injuries. Due to this, the department dispatched two engines and ambulances to the scene.
 
The CHP revealed that the suspect driver escaped the scene. Thus, the police are continuing to look for a tan or black 2000s-model SUV with a missing front grill and a headlight.
 
The officers urge anyone with information about the hit-and-run to contact the Riverside office of the CHP at 951-637-8000.
