1 Dead in Los Angeles Bicycle Accident on Centinela Avenue and Alvern Street

 
LOS ANGELES, CA (September 19, 2021) – Saturday morning, authorities arrested Michael Tesfai after the crash on Centinela Avenue.
 
The incident occurred when a car struck the 71-year-old bicyclist at around 4:40 a.m. CHP Officer G. Ramos said that the crash occurred on Centinela Avenue at Alvern Street.
 
27-year-old Michael Tesfai of Culver City drove a 2019 Toyota Camry west on Centinela Avenue in the number 2 lane. Then, the man on the Cannondale bicycle southbound on Alvern Street turner right onto westbound Centinela. As a result, the vehicle hit the bicycle.
 
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles County Paramedics declared the man dead at the scene.
 
Then, authorities arrested Tesfai for suspicion of DUI and booked him at the Los Angeles County Jail. Also, he received treatment for abrasions to his eyes.
