Michael Slavin Fatally Hurt in Victorville ATV and Train Crash
VICTORVILLE, CA (June 13, 2019) — A man identified as Michael Slavin was struck and killed by a train while he rode an ATV on Sunday, June 9.
At around 11:00 am, officers from the BNSF Police Department responded to a single vehicle ATV crash with a train. It occurred in the area of Industrial Boulevard and Santa Fe Avenue in Victorville.
According to the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office, the driver of the 2012 Polaris 800 died at the scene at 11:15 am. Officials identified him as 27-year-old Michael Slavin, of La Puente.
Michael’s family created a GoFundMe page to help with funeral expenses. They also said he leaves behind a wife and three young children.
The BNSF Police Department is investigating the incident.
