Santa Barbara Man Michael Peake Dies in Accident on Highway 101 by Nojoqui Summit
Santa Barbara, CA (May 3, 2021) – Monday morning, an 80-year-old Michael Peake of Santa Barbara died after a head-on crash on Highway 101 at the Nojoqui Summit.
The Highway 101 deadly accident happened on May 3.
The Califonia Highway Patrol said a driver headed southbound crossed into oncoming traffic and into the path of a northbound vehicle.
The victim traveling northbound in a Jeep pickup truck, Mr. Peake, was killed when the two vehicles collided.
Meanwhile, CHP said the wrong way driver, Juliel Montes, of Salinas, remained uninjured.
Moreover, officers do not consider alcohol or drugs as factors in this fatal Santa Barbara crash.
