1 Dead in Corona Crash on Interstate 15 and El Cerrito Road

 
CORONA, CA (September 15, 2021) – Tuesday morning, 49-year-old Michael Pashley died in a hit-and-run accident on Interstate 15 and El Cerrito Road.
 
The incident occurred at around 3:55 a.m., said the California Highway Patrol. Moreover, the crash occurred on southbound Interstate 15, south of El Cerrito Road.
 
According to Sgt. Joseph Corey, Michael Pashley of Santa Ana rode an Acura SUV when he crashed with a big rig. The SUV ran into the rear of the semi which caused him to pull over in the slow lane.
 
Then, Pashley got out of his car to check the damage.
 
“After he exited his vehicle, he was struck by an unknown tractor-trailer pulling two gravel trailers,” Corey added. “The driver of the tractor-trailer did not stop.”
 
However, the Corona Fire Department paramedics declared Michael Pashley dead at the scene.
 
As a result of the crash, the authorities shut down three of four lanes for more than two hours.
 
Corey said that officers looked for the hit-and-run rig but couldn’t find it.
 
Meanwhile, the authorities said that crash involved no other vehicles. Moreover, the trucker in the initial accident suffered no injuries.
