Pedestrian Struck and Killed on Intersection of South Nevada Avenue and East Las Vegas Street
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (February 9, 2018) – A 41-year-old man was struck and killed on the intersection of South Nevada Avenue and East Las Vegas Street on Friday evening.
Around 9:30 PM, Michael Miller of Colorado Springs was crossing Nevada Ave, while southbound traffic had a green light. A silver sedan that was headed southbound struck Miller.
The Colorado Springs man was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
According to police, the driver was not speeding or impaired at the time of the crash. He was said to have been wearing dark clothing, which made it difficult to see him in the nighttime. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officials. No chargers have been filed against the driver at this time.
Southbound Nevada was blocked between Las Vegas and Mill Street while authorities investigated the scene of the crash. The northbound lanes remained open and unaffected during investigation.
