Michael Mackey Dies in Pedestrian Accident on Magnolia Avenue [Riverside, CA]

Riverside, CA (May 12, 2021) – On Sunday, 57-year-old Michael Mackey of Riverside died in a pedestrian accident on Magnolia Avenue.
 
The fatal crash took place at about 9:10 p.m., south of Elizabeth Street.
 
Officers said a Toyota Yaris was northbound on the highway when witnesses saw Mackey in the traffic lanes near the intersection. He stopped near the center of the road, laid in the path of the Toyota, and was hit.
 
The authorities said drug or alcohol use on the part of Mackey may have been a factor in the accident.
 
Moreover, the unidentified driver was not injured in the accident, stopped at the scene, and called 911.
 
Immediately, rescuers arrived and attempted life-saving measures on Mackey, before taking him to Riverside Community Hospital, where he died shortly before 11 p.m.
