Alejandro Contreras Involved in Modesto Collision

Modesto, CA (August 31, 2022) – On Tuesday night, Michael Lowery, 23, of Modesto, sustained head injuries in a motorcycle crash on Salida Boulevard.

The traffic incident took place at about 7:44 p.m., north of Pelandale Avenue, in front of the Del Taco.

According to the authorities, Alejandro Contreras, 19, of Modesto, was driving a Ford F-150. He slowed attempting to make a U-turn in the concrete median. 

Suddenly, Lowery, on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, rear-ended Contreras’ pickup. 

The paramedics rushed Michael Lowery to a Modesto hospital with major head injuries. Officers say he was wearing a helmet when the crash happened.

Contreras, on the other hand, did not sustain injuries from the accident.

Officers say there is a “No U-turn” sign at the scene of the crash but they are considering motorcycle’s speed and its traveling distance from the Ford prior to the accident.

The authorities are still investigating.
