Michael Johansing Injured and Ryan Moore Detained in Yakima DUI Car Accident

 
YAKIMA, WA (July 9, 2019) – A person sustained injuries while authorities arrested one person following a DUI car accident on Tieton Drive.
 
Police arrived at the scene on Tieton Drive and South 26th Avenue about 4:40 p.m. on July 5 for a pickup-motorcycle collision.
 
According to police, a GMC Sierra pickup sharply made a right turn from the inside lane of Tieton Drive to South 26th Avenue. As a result, the motorcycle went on its side and skidded west in the outside lane by the curb.
 
According to a witness, the motorcycle and pickup both traveled west when the pickup’s left-turn signal went on. After that, the rider steered to the right to go around the truck. However, the pickup then quickly turned right. As a result, the motorcycle to fell and slid.
 
The rider, 43-year-old Michael Johansing, went to Virginia Mason Memorial hospital. Johansing’s suffered a severe head injury, bruised lungs, and internal bleeding. However, they transferred him to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. As a result, the hospital listed him in serious condition.
 
Meanwhile, authorities arrested 33-year-old Ryan Moore, the truck driver. Officers revealed that Moore’s eyes seemed watery, his speech was slightly slurred and he had an odor of intoxicants about him. However, Moore refused a field sobriety tests.
 
Authorities booked Moore into the Yakima County jail on suspicion of vehicular assault. However, Yakima County Superior Court Judge Blaine Gibson ordered his release on a Friday hearing.
