61-Year-Old Pedestrian Struck and Injured by Car near California Street
REDDING, CA (December 4, 2018) – A man was seriously injured early Tuesday evening following a pedestrian crash near California Street. The victim was later identified as 61-year-old Michael Deffebach, a resident of Redding.
According to the Redding Police Department, the incident happened on South Street, at about 5:30 PM. A pedestrian, dressed in dark clothing, was crossing the street when he was struck by a Toyota Tacoma.
Deffebach suffered major traumatic injuries and was transported to a hospital in critical condition. Further updates on his current medical condition were not immediately provided. Meanwhile, the Toyota driver, identified as 62-year-old Kathryn Houser of Igo, remained and cooperated with investigators.
