U.S. Postal Service Employee Michael Blanton Dies after Two-Vehicle Crash on Phoenix Street
Phoenix, AZ (November 4, 2021) – Tuesday evening, a 59-year-old Michael Blanton, a U.S. Postal Service employee, died when a box truck crashed into his mail truck from behind and caught fire on Phoenix Street.
The fatal crash happened at around 6:15 p.m. on November 2.
Police said the postal vehicle was pulled over next to a mailbox when a box truck hit it. Blanton was then pronounced dead at the scene.
Moreover, EMS took the 35-year-old man driving the box truck to the hospital with serious injuries.
Investigators said the two drivers showed no signs of impairment at the time of the crash.
Further investigation to determine the cause of the crash is ongoing.
