NAPA COUNTY, CA (November 15, 2021) – Sunday afternoon, Michael Bates sustained injuries in a motorcycle crash on Butts Canyon Road.
 
According to CHP Napa bureau spokesperson Jaret Paulson, the incident happened at around 1:30 p.m. Moreover, it occurred on Butts Canyon Road, north of James Creek Road.
 
Reports revealed that a southbound 2019 BMW F 850 motorbike veered towards the northbound lanes. Then, it sideswiped a northbound 1993 Dodge Dakota pickup truck. Afterward, the motorcycle lost control and crashed into an embankment into a canyon.
 
Moreover, responders transported the motorcyclist, 53-year-old Michael D. Bates, to Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital via helicopter.
 
Furthermore, the pickup driver, a 23-year-old Fairfield man, sustained no injuries in the crash.
