29-Year-Old Man Dies after Multi-Vehicle Crash near Santana Way
CORONA, CA (August 30, 2018) – A man was killed late Thursday morning following a three-car collision near Santana Way. The victim was later identified by the Riverside County coroner’s office as 29-year-old Michael Arellano.
According to the Corona Police Department, the incident occurred at about 11:00 AM. A Jeep Cherokee was heading north from Main Street to Magnolia Avenue when it slammed into the rear of a Honda Accord, driven by Arellano. The impact pushed the Honda into the intersection, where it collided with a Volkswagen Jetta.
Arellano was rushed to the Corona Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead less than an hour later. The driver of the Jeep, registered to a man named Lawrence Morrow, was transported to the Riverside Community Hospital with unspecified injuries. Meanwhile, the driver of the Jetta did not sustain injuries.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the collision and to identify possible contributing factors. There was no further information provided by the authorities.
