Michael Appleby of Naches Transported in Highway 12 DUI Crash [Naches, WA]

Naches, WA (October 25, 2024) –  Passenger Michael Appleby from Naches was injured in a DUI crash on Highway 12 Tuesday.

The traffic accident happened at milepost 183, approximately 6 miles west of Naches.

Derek James Peters sustained a cut on his head and a few bruises to his back and shoulder, while Michael Appleby incurred a severe lower leg fracture.

The emergency rescuers rushed both of them to MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital. 

Due to Michael Appleby‘s injuries, Peters has been charged with Vehicular Assault while Under the Influence.

Troopers are conducting a further investigation and believe drugs or alcohol were involved.
