33-Year-Old Stanwood Woman Dies after SUV Crashes on Highway 531 in Lake Goodwin
LAKE GOODWIN, WA (November 16, 2019) – A woman was killed in a car accident early Saturday morning in Lake Goodwin.
The crash happened around 1:42 a.m. on Highway 531, also known as Lakewood Road, near 26th Avenue NW.
According to the Washington State Patrol, a red 2009 Toyota RAV4 was traveling eastbound on the highway when it failed to negotiate a curve and went off the roadway. It then went down an embankment, through a fence and hit a building.
As a result, the SUV driver died at the scene. Authorities identified her as Micaela Parker, 33, of Stanwood. She was not wearing a seat belt.
Investigators are still piecing together exactly what led up to the crash but do not believe any other vehicles were involved.
