West Coast Iron Employee Killed by Falling Iron Beam near Sacramento Avenue
SPRING VALLEY, CA (October 3, 2018) – A man was killed Wednesday morning following an industrial accident on Jamacha Road near Sacramento Avenue. The identity of the deceased victim is being withheld, pending notification of his family members.
As per reports, an iron beam fell off a truck and struck the victim, shortly before 10:30 AM. The incident took place at West Coast Iron in the 9300 block of Jamacha Road. Events that led up to the incident were not immediately available.
The worker, described as a man in his 20s, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by responding officers. No other injuries were reported by the authorities.
The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health will investigate the facility to determine if any workplace violations contributed to the fatal accident. Additional information will be released, following the conclusion of the investigation.
