MERCED, CA – Fatal Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Collision on R Street

Man Fatally Struck by Vehicle near R Street and Buena Vista Drive Intersection

 
MERCED, CA (May 13, 2018) – A man was killed in a pedestrian collision on R Street at Buena Vista Drive, early Sunday morning.
 
According to the Merced Police, the collision happened around 2:00 AM on the intersection of Buena Vista Dr and R St. It was unclear how the deadly crash occurred, but the driver reportedly fled the scene. Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene. His identity was not released pending notification of next of kin.
 
Officers are actively searching for the hit-and-run driver and vehicle involved in the fatal collision. The investigation continues as authorities understand the events leading up to the accident.
