3 Passengers Injured After Head-On Crash on 19th Avenue in Phoenix
Phoenix, AZ (April 29, 2024) – On Monday, 31-year-old Melody Stewart died, and 3 people sustained injuries in a crash on 19th Avenue.
The incident happened along 19th Avenue north of Cactus Road around 9 a.m.
At the scene, ABC15 crews spoke with a bus passenger, Vijay Kumar Boda, who reported that the crash happened when the car’s driver entered the wrong lanes of traffic and collided head-on with the bus.
Police have identified the deceased as 31-year-old Melody Stewart, who died at the scene. During the collision, three bus passengers sustained minor injuries.
According to officials, Stewart was driving northbound on 19th Avenue from Cactus Road when she crossed into the southbound lanes, entering oncoming traffic.
