Meilani Abernath Airlifted in Accident on Big Pines Highway, Nubia Amaro Killed
LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CA (April 21, 2021) – Tuesday, Meilani Abernath, 33, sustained injuries in a fatal rollover accident on Big Pines Highway.
According to California Highway Patrol, the incident took place at 7:35 p.m.
Moreover, the location being Big Pines Highway, west of Largo Vista Road. This, by the unincorporated Valyermo area of Los Angeles County.
Reports revealed that a Littlerock woman made an unsafe turn.
As a result, her 2009 Ford Focus drifted to the right shoulder of the road.
Then, the vehicle veered left across the eastbound lane, going through a barbed-wire fence. Eventually, it rolled down an embankment.
Furthermore, authorities confirmed that they found the driver outside the vehicle. The authorities pronounced her dead at the scene.
The coroner’s office later identified her as Nubia Amaro, 29.
Also, they confirmed that the woman failed to wear a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported her passenger, Meilani Abernath of Palmdale, via helicopter with minor injuries.
Also, officers said they are unaware whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the Antelope Valley crash.
