Morning Collision on Highway 111 in Mecca Sends Child to Hospital
MECCA, CA (April 1, 2019) – A child was hospitalized following a three-vehicle accident on Highway 111 at Cleveland Street Monday morning, CHP officials said.
The collision happened around 6:06 a.m. on Highway 111 at Cleveland Street.
According to CHP, a gray Ford sedan and a white Nissan collided for unknown reasons. After that, a tire from an involved vehicle went off the roadway and was struck by a pickup truck.
A child was hurt in the accident and was taken to John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital. In addition, the extent of injuries sustained was not immediately known.
There were no descriptions of any vehicular damages but all three vehicles were towed from the crash site.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash and to identify contributing factors. In addition, more information will be released once it becomes available.
