Mazda Driver Injured in Highway 99 Fatal Crash [Yuba City, CA]

Yuba City, CA (November 12, 2021) – On Wednesday, a Lexus driver suffered injures in Highway 99 fatal crash.

The crash took place at around 9:28 a.m.

Investigators said a 93-year-old Yuba City woman driving a 2018 Toyota was southbound on the highway.

The woman entered the left turn lane near Stewart Road.

Meanwhile, the 2016 Mazda driver was northbound in the second lane and a 2005 Lexus was in the first lane slightly behind the Mazda.

However,  the Toyota driver did not yield to oncoming traffic but turned directly in front of the vehicles.

As a result, the Mazda crashed into the Toyota. 

Then, the Toyota spun counter-clockwise and struck the right rear corner of the Lexus.

Right away, the emergency team rushed the Toyota and Mazda drivers to the hospital.

Unfortunately, the 93-year-old woman died in the hospital.

Meanwhile, officers do not consider drugs and alcohol to be a factor in the crash.
