Phoenix, AZ (November 5, 2023) – On Friday night, 77-year-old Maxine Carstedt died in a DUI crash on 7th Avenue.

Just before 10 p.m., authorities say 36-year-old Dustin Peck was driving drunk eastbound on Beardsley Road when he ran a red light at 7th Avenue.

 He reportedly drove across the median and crashed into the car of 77-year-old Maxine Carstedt. Carstedt had stopped at the red light at 7th Avenue northbound. 

When officers arrived at the scene of the accident, they found Carstedt with serious injuries. She died at the scene of the accident.

Peck was booked into jail on reckless driving, manslaughter and driving with a blood alcohol content over .08.
