2 People Hospitalized in Laredo Pedestrian Accident near Jefferson Street and Santa Cleotilde Avenue
LAREDO, TX (March 26, 2024) – Monday morning, authorities arrested Mauricio Contreras after an alarming pedestrian crash near Jefferson Street.
The incident happened at around 3:30 a.m. near Jefferson Street and Santa Cleotilde Avenue.
According to the Laredo Police Department, Contreras allegedly got into a fight and attempted to leave the scene in a gray Ford Taurus. Then, the driver hit two people while leaving the scene.
Moreover, responders transported a 32-year-old man with ankle and body injuries, to LMC in stable condition. Then, paramedics transported a 33-year-old man with leg injuries to Doctors Hospital for treatment. Also, a third victim was involved in the fight but was not transported.
Furthermore, officers arrested Contreras for failure to identify.
At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
Due to limited information, the Laredo Police Department continued to investigate the crash.
