Matthew Winks Struck and Killed in Manteca Hit-and-Run Crash
Manteca, CA (October 16, 2020) – On Tuesday, California Highway Patrol officers arrested Dylan Moyle, the driver of a hit-and-run crash that killed Matthew Winks in Manteca on October 3.
The CHP said 42-year-old Matthew Winks was struck and killed by a white 1998 Ford F-150 at the intersection of 5th Avenue at 7th Street.
The pickup truck driver immediately drove away from the fatal accident shortly after.
Moreover, detectives discovered someone attempted to run over Winks a week before he was killed.
Further, the U.S. Department of Forestry officials found the Ford F-150 that struck Winks in the Twain Harte Area.
Witnesses and surveillance footage helped investigators identify Moyle as a person of interest in Winks’ murder. The authorities later issued a warrant for Moyles’s arrest.
During that time, investigators thought Moyle was hiding in either Tuolumne County or Stanislaus County.
Authorities also looked for people who may have helped Moyle cover up his crime.
Finally, authorities found and arrested him on Tuesday in Manteca in connection to Winks’ murder. They booked him into the San Joaquin County Jail.
With heavy hearts, we send our sympathies to the family and friends of Matthew Winks.
