FOWLER, CA (September 30, 2019) – A 29-year-old man identified as Matthew Rodrigues died in a pedestrian accident on Friday, September 27.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at around 4:30 a.m. on Highway 99 just south of the Clovis Avenue exit.
 
Officers believe that Rodrigues tried to cross the highway when a person driving a van struck him.
 
That driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
 
Officials shut down one northbound lane during the investigation of the fatal incident.
