Matthew Northy of Vancouver Hospitalized in Felida Two-Vehicle Crash
Felida, WA (April 30, 2021) – On Thursday, 63-year-old Matthew Northy of Vancouver, and 25-year-old Esther Huizar of Vancouver, were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Northwest Lakeshore Avenue.
The Felida vehicle crash happened at about 6 a.m. at the 10500 block area.
When officers arrived at the scene, they rescued Northy, the 2006 Nissan Sentra driver from his vehicle. He sustained serious injuries.
Rescuers took him by ambulance to a local hospital. They said he is in stable condition.
On the other hand, Huizar, the 1996 Plymouth Grand Voyager driver, was able to free herself from her vehicle. She incurred minor injuries. They took him to a hospital.
Apparently, Plymouth was northbound on Lakeshore Avenue when it struck the Nissan as it attempted to turn left from Northwest 105th Street. Another witness said the Plymouth was speeding.
Moreover, officers said speed appears to be a significant factor in the accident. Though, they continue to investigate the crash.
No one filed charges in the crash.

What To Do in Case of Personal Injuries
While driving is essential for many in order to move about in their lives, it is one of the most dangerous activities we do daily. Crash rates in Washington continue to increase, rather than decrease, despite the additional safety features on newer vehicle models.
As a matter of fact, each year, auto crash results to around 20-50 million people with injuries or disabilities.
Therefore, it is important to know how to proceed in case you find yourself involved in a traffic collision. Also, we need everyone to remain calm in order to properly handle the immediate aftermath of an automobile collision.
