Matthew Gunn Killed in Pedestrian Accident on West Pozo Road [Santa Margarita, CA]

47-Year-Old Matthew Gunn Struck and Killed by Vehicle in Santa Margarita

SANTA MARGARITA, CA (December 15, 2018) – On Saturday morning, a 47-year-old man was struck and killed on West Pozo Road. The man was later identified as Matthew Gunn from Atascadero.

Officials stated that Gunn was lying on the middle of the road when he was hit and killed by a Templeton driver. Shortly after, a Santa Margarita resident who was driving the opposite direction also struck the victim. It is unclear why Gunn was lying on the floor.

First responders arrived at the scene of the accident and pronounced Gunn dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported in the incident. Authorities believe that the heavy fog on the road is what caused the drivers to not see Gunn in the road.

There has been no further information released to the public, regarding the circumstances leading up to the incident at this time.
