Mattawa Man Dies in Two-Vehicle Crash on State Route 243 [Grant County, WA]

Driver Injured in Fatal Head-On Crash on State Route 243

Grant County, WA (January 03, 2022) – On Saturday,  a Mattawa man died in a two-vehicle crash on State Route 243.

Officers said the Mattawa man was southbound on the freeway near milepost 13 when his car crossed the center line and crashed the oncoming vehicle.

The oncoming vehicle’s driver swerved and struck an electrical box before it rested in an orchard.

The emergency team took both drivers to Kadlec Regional Medical Center. 

Unfortunately, the Mattawa man later succumbed to his injuries. On the other hand, the 2nd driver is still at the hospital.

Meanwhile, the authorities are still investigating the two-vehicle crash on State Route 243. It is not yet known if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the incident.

Officers said both drivers were wearing their seatbelts during the collision.
