Injuries Reported in Fatal 7-Vehicle Collision on I-70
Columbia, MO (August 6, 2024) On Monday afternoon, a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 left 2 people dead and several others hurt.
According to the Columbia Police Department (CPD), the 7-vehicle collision happened around 2:39 p.m. at the 125.2-mile marker of Interstate 70.
Reports say that a big rig struck a car on the eastbound lanes, afterward, the semi crossed onto the other lane and collided with a U-Haul truck on the westbound lanes.
Officials say that a female on the U-Haul was declared dead at the scene, while another woman was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Several other people were injured in the crash.
Authorities are investigating the fatal 7-vehicle crash and have not provided further information at this time.
