Injuries Reported in Riverside Multi-Vehicle Accident on Interstate 215 & Center Street

RIVERSIDE, CA (August 16, 2023) – Tuesday night, a massive 6-vehicle crash on Interstate 215 & Center Street injured 7 people.

The incident happened at around 11:31 p.m. on Interstate 215 & Center Street.

The California Highway Patrol, Riverside, and Cal Fire Riverside County all responded to the crash on the freeway near a work zone.

Upon their arrival, they located six involved vehicles, with one over turned vehicle and one patient who required a minor extrication.

Officers said that the crash started with two vehicles being involved in a crash. Then, several others got involved.

Meanwhile, witnesses revealed that as the white truck traveled at a high rate of speed, it veered through the work zone and struck multiple vehicles.

Officers confirmed that the crash involved a total of 7 patients. Then, four of them were transported to local area hospitals with unknown injuries.

Meanwhile, the crash led CHP to issue a SigAlert which lasted an hour.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
