MARYSVILLE, WA (February 8, 2018) – Around 12:30 PM on Thursday afternoon, two dump trucks collided on 140th Street Northwest near 56th Avenue, causing major damage.
Firefighters and Snohomish County deputies responded to the scene of the crash, just 3 miles west of Marysville. No injuries were reported in the incident, but a lot of damage was done to the cars and to the road.
One of the trucks was flipped on its side, while the other truck’s engine was twisted at a 45 degree angle from the rest of the car. Officials closed 140th street to clean up the wreckage and other damages. Crews were cleaning up several gallons of oil and fuel that were spilled on the road; absorbents and booms were used to contain the spillage.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation by police. No other information has been released at this time.
When driving near big trucks, it is important to keep a safe distance and remain in the speed limit. Vehicles of this size are more dangerous because of their size and weight, and accidents with them can cause major damage and injuries.
