Passenger Injured in Head-On Collision Near Ice House Road
El Dorado County, CA (March 4, 2023) – On Thursday, Marvin Buchmiller, 83, of South Lake Tahoe, sustained fatal injuries in a 2-vehicle collision on Highway 50.
The fatal collision happened at about 3:20 p.m. near Ice House Road.
Marvin Buchmiller died when a Ford Expedition driven by a 52-year-old driver crossed into opposing lanes and struck the Kia Sportage he was driving.
Buchmiller’s passenger, a 52-year-old man, was transported to a hospital with major injuries.
Moreover, the Ford Expedition driver incurred minor injuries.
In the meantime, the authorities are investigating why the Ford driver crossed into the other lanes. DUI is not suspected in the fatal accident.
Officers said everyone involved in the crash was wearing seatbelts.
