Afternoon 2-Vehicle Wreck on Highway 4 in Martinez, Complaint of Pain Reported
MARTINEZ, CA (November 26, 2018) – One person was hurt following a two-car crash Monday afternoon in Martinez, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The crash happened around 2:08 p.m. on westbound Highway 4, just West of Alhambra Avenue off-ramp.
According to the CHP, a silver Jeep and a blue Ford Explorer collided, causing the Jeep to overturn several times. One occupant complained of pain to the head and neck as a result of the accident. That patient was taken by ambulance to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek for proper treatment.
The Jeep sustained major rollover damage, while the Explorer had major front-end damage. Both vehicles were towed away from the wreckage.
The specific cause of the crash and who may be at fault remain under investigation.
Majority of car accidents are caused by over-speeding. Driving at high rates is dangerous despite how clear the roads may seem. Oftentimes, other vehicles may not be able to react in time to prevent a potentially serious crash. Therefore, it is important to maintain safe speeds at all times.
