Morning Car Accident on Highway 4 in Martinez Sends One to Hospital
MARTINEZ, CA (March 2, 2019) – One person was hospitalized following a traffic collision Saturday morning on Highway 4 in Martinez.
The collision happened just before 8:00 a.m. along the eastbound lanes of Highway 4 at McEwen Road on-ramp.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a silver Hyundai ran across lanes of traffic and crashed into the center divider. At least three other vehicles may have been involved but no further details were provided.
An ambulance unit was dispatched to the scene and found one patient with a cut on the lip and complained of head pain. Paramedics transported the individual to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek for proper treatment.
The Hyundai sustained moderate front-end damage and was towed away from the crash site.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash and to identify possible contributing factors.
