Lakewood, WA (September 22, 2023) On Thursday morning, 55-year-old Martin Matias and 18-year-old Denilso Lopez died in a tragic accident on Interstate 5.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the horrific crash happened at about 5 a.m. on Interstate 5 in Lakewood.

Reports say that a rogue tire smashed into a commuter van that had 8 occupants. Officials say that a loose tire crashed into the windshield of the van, missing the driver and front seat passenger, however the tire hit Matias.

Meanwhile, Lopez was sitting in the second row and was another victim of the horrific accident, Another person was hurt and was taken to a Tacoma hospital.

Authorities say that the commuter van was travelling from Shelton to an area near Enumclaw.
