50-Year-Old Long Beach Motorcyclist Fatally Injured in DUI Hit-and-Run Crash near Blaine Street, Ryan Andre Burke Arrested
RIVERSIDE, CA (June 10, 2018) – A man was fatally injured and another was arrested after a DUI hit-and-run motorcycle accident on the southbound 215 freeway, early Sunday morning. The deceased victim was identified as 50-year-old Martin Guillen.
According to CHP reports, the accident took place near Blaine Street, around 3:40 AM.
Guillen was riding his 2017 Harley Davidson on the highway, when he was rear-ended by a speeding 2014 Kia Forte. The driver, 20-year-old Ryan Andrew Burke, was traveling over 100 miles per hour at the time of the collision. The motorcyclist was thrown from his bike onto the road, and was pronounced dead minutes later. From the impact of the high-speed crash, the Kia overturned in the southbound lanes.
Burke fled on foot and was later taken to custody by authorities at his residence shortly after the accident. He was reported to display signs of intoxication, and was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI, vehicular manslaughter, and felony hit-and-run.
