Wenatchee Man Martin Alvarez Sandoval Dies in Collision on Highway 28 [Rock Island, WA]

Rock Island, WA (November 17, 2024) – A Wenatchee man, Martin Alvarez Sandoval, 30, was killed in a collision on Highway 28 Friday.

It was about 1:30 p.m. when the deadly multi-vehicle crash happened near milepost 4 at the intersection with South Union Avenue.

Troopers said Tiffany Moncrief, 37, of Ephrata, was westbound when she crossed the centerline and struck a 2016 Ford Edge SUV driven by Robert Karpiscak, 51, of East Wenatchee. Karpiscak’s SUV rolled and rested in the eastbound ditch.

Afterward, Moncrief’s vehicle also struck Alvarez’s. Responding officers said Alvarez was not wearing a seatbelt during the collision.

Sadly, Martin Alvarez Sandoval was killed in the collision. His passenger, Brenda Medina Bustos, 27, was transported to Confluence Health Hospital.

Similarly, Karpiscak and Moncrief were also transported to the same hospital.

WSP officers are investigating the fatal collision and it is unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor.
