Pedestrian Dead, Marlon Cruz Arrested in South Lake Tahoe Accident on Lake Tahoe Boulevard
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CA (October 8, 2019) – Officers arrested the 20-year-old suspect identified as Marlon Cruz after a fatal hit-and-run crash.
According to the police, a man in his 70s walked across Lake Tahoe Boulevard around 8 p.m. Sunday, October 6. Then a black vehicle struck him and fled the scene.
Investigators stated that the car struck the pedestrian so hard that it threw him onto the sidewalk. The victim died at the scene. His identity was not immediately available.
Police said that the suspect, Marlon Cruz, walked into the South Lake Tahoe police station around 12:30 a.m. Monday. He told officers he may have been involved in a crash. They charged him with felony hit-and-run. He was booked into the El Dorado County Jail where his bail is set at $75,000.
