Woman Died, Teen Injured in Alleged DUI Crash in Santa Cruz, Suspect Mark Zembrano Arrested
Santa Cruz, Ca (June 17, 2020)– Mark Zembrano was arrested after a deadly crash on Murray Street and Mott Avenue on Monday.
The tragic incident occurred on June 15 at about 2:12 p.m. Crews were dispatched on Murray Street and Mott Avenue where the incident took place.
At the scene, officers found 2 pedestrian victims from the crash. One woman, 44, and one girl, 15 were both transported to Dominican Hospital. There, the woman was pronounced dead while the teen is in stable condition after sustaining serious injuries.
The identification of the woman who died is being withheld pending notification of the next-of-kin.
Police Arrest
Furthermore, police said that the suspect Mark Zembrano, 18, remained at the scene. Among other offenses, Zembrano was also arrested for suspicion of DUI causing physical injuries.
