Mark Valenzuela Killed, Hit-And-Run Driver Involved In Fatal Pedestrian Collision Near Campbell Avenue

TUCSON, AZ (November 1, 2019) Mark Anthony Valenzuela died in a hit-and-run accident on Irvington Road on Friday evening.

According to the police, the crash happened near the intersection of Campbell Avenue at approximately 6:30 PM.

Based on a report from the Tucson Police Department, the 59-year-old crossed the intersection outside a marked crosswalk when a westbound vehicle hit him. The driver of the vehicle did not stop at the scene after the crash and escaped without rendering aid.

Paramedics transported the victim to Banner University Medical Center, where he died shortly after arriving.

Witnesses described the suspect vehicle as a large, dark-colored pickup truck that was lifted and had off-road tires. Based on roadway evidence, speed did not appear to be a factor in the crash. However, an investigation is on-going.
