60-Year-Old Goldendale Motorcyclist Fatally Injured in Crash
GOLDENDALE, WA (May 5, 2018) – A deadly motorcycle collision on the US Highway 97 claimed the life of a man, early Saturday afternoon. The victim was later identified as 60-year-old Mark Hodges, a resident of Goldendale.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash happened at around 12:38 PM on Highway 97, about ten miles north of Goldendale. Hodges was heading northbound on the highway behind a vehicle, driven by 23-year-old Cassandra Humphrys of Richland.
As Humphyrs prepared to turn left onto Lower Road, Hodges attempted to pass her vehicle from the left side, eventually resulting in the collision. Hodges was rushed to the Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland, where he succumbed to his injuries and was later pronounced dead.
In the preliminary investigation, it was noted that the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet when the collision happened. It was also stated that there are charges pending at this time. No additional information is available to the public, as the authorities continue to investigate the fatal accident.
