Mark Camp Dies in Rear-End Crash on Highway 2 [Monroe, WA]

Collision Near Fern Bluff Road Kills Snohomish Man Mark Camp

Monroe, WA (August 05, 2022) – On Wednesday, Mark Camp, 62, of Snohomish, sustained fatal injuries in a rear-end crash on Highway 2.

It was about 6:18 p.m. when the fatal incident took place near Fern Bluff Road.

According to the investigators, Camp was riding an eastbound motorcycle when traffic ahead of him slowed. 

A Lexus RX SUV driver rear-ended Camp’s motorcycle. 

The impact of the collision threw Camp off his motorcycle and struck another vehicle that was pushed into a van.

Unfortunately, Mark Camp wasn’t wearing a U.S. Department of Transportation-compliant helmet when the collision happened. Sadly, he died at the scene.

Officers say no one else sustained injuries in the accident.

Meanwhile, officers say that the driver who caused the crash wasn’t wearing a seat belt. They booked him into Snohomish County Jail for investigation of vehicular homicide.

The authorities are investigating the collision near Fern Bluff Road.
